the art of boombastic

maker of the video: nate, my brother and the same one I collaborated with back in february

maker of the beats: also nate

people in the video: deepspace5, a hip hop collective my brother is a part of

you might also recognize: dan the listener

shot with: a super 8 film camera scored off ebay, same one he used to shoot the video will not be sold

marginally relevant detail: the end of the video is not the end of the video but the beginning of another and I promise I'm not talking in metaphors. it's something that hasn't been edited out yet but I couldn't wait any longer to post this (not one second longer) so consider this version the uncut one.

how I feel every time I watch this: incredibly extremely ridiculously proud

p.s. I knew that orange labeler would come in handy. I knew it.

  1. I was watching TV when I heard hip-hop blasting from our media room.

"What the...Is Christy listening to hip-hop?"

    I start bobbing my head...

"Wait a minute, is Christy listening to some GOOD hip-hop that *gasp* I've never heard before? What the heck is going on here?!?"

I thought it was really really good. Good enough to move me from the couch to investigate. That's pretty good.

Tell ol' Ward I said hi.

  2. maybe he could use augie for his next one? i don't know. the kid went crazy.

unrelated-- paul was all, "oh yeah, this guy is awesome..." because he knew already. or something. anyway, you shot right up his list which means little really, but i'd thought you'd like to know. (it's a strange list. jenny garth is on it, i think.)

  19. in the words of liz lemon- 'i want to go there'
i've heard a lot of indie hip hop (being a partner in a bar/ production biz, etc.) and that is fantastically polished and infectious. i want to listen again and again. anytime any of them are in town (PDX, natch) and they need a venue-- let us know at Report Lounge. i'm off to see if i can buy something off of their facebook or myspace, etc.
    love your blog, as usu.
