  1. Read them all-- and loved them! Except for the last which I am now adding to my pile. Have you read The Lost Children Archive yet? It is exquisite and the whole time I was reading it I thought of you. ~b xoxo

  2. Oh Secret History... I just watched the Goldfinch trailer and oh my stars the tears. I so wish you and I could have a moviedate and watch the movie together. We could coordinate on the snacks we'd smuggle in. ~b xoxo

    1. oh I wish I wish I wish. I have no movie buddies here (or book buddies either, for that matter). I was so mixed about even watching the goldfinch trailer as the characters (the whole book, really) is so specifically, magically set in my mind! wasn't sure I wanted the visuals of another to impose on it. but I watched anyway, of course-- I've watched the trailer so many times now and I am soooo pleased with the way it looks and feels-- (roger deakins as cinematographer, be still my heart)...! here's hopin the film is as good. I read somewhere that they played around with narrative in order to play around with the timeline... I'm intrigued. so, we shall see. xo
