sometimes I wonder why I don't just move someplace with more sun already. someplace where there is not a constant grey furrowed brow hovering directly over the entire city. where it doesn't rain for what feels like weeks on end, where summer actually starts in june. you know, when it's supposed to.
but then there's lodekka, portland's double decker vintage dress shop. and pretty bridges and a thousand food carts and green things all around and more old school dip and dunk style photobooths than I even know what to do with. and humidity-free summers and the best book store in the world. and then, for the most part, I'm okay. because it's hard to be mad at the rain when you're shopping for vintage aprons on the top floor of a '65 double decker bus. it's hard to be mad at anything, really.

i'm seriously angry that i don't live in portland right now. i'm not kidding--i sort of feel like a crime has been committed against me.
i ask myself the same sorts of questions. right now i'm wondering, why don't i live somewhere where it's actually SPRING right now? or somewhere that doesn't even have dumb winter?
i definitely need to remind myself of the positives (often)
Yay! That looks great! Second only to a tea shop on a double decker I went to once :) And just don't move to England, constant grey/rain is pretty much our day to day weather.

I understand how you feel. I share that sometimes when I hear from family living in San Diego. Yet I have lived here in Portland Metro all my life and it is where my heart remains.
I do worry about all the people who say they want to move here though when Oregon has the 2nd highest national unemployment stats. Not good. Not good at all. It's 2nd only to Michigan & although cost of living in Michigan is low it's not nearly that low here. Locals still need to survive. I encourage locals to support local. We need to do whatever we can to get that problem solved. San Diego's cost of living is much higher. You've gotta pay for that sunshine!
Yes, San Diego has it's beaches & sunshine but I can always visit if I want to.

I heard about this on NPR!!! You're so lucky you get to visit this cool shop on wheels! I love double-decker buses, rode as many as I could when I visited London and was sad to learn that they were kind of phasing them out:( I am dying to visit Portland, another item on my things-to-do-in-portland list! xoxo

I would love to visit Portland. It sounds like a great city. I need to see this double-decker dress shop for myself. Not sure about the weather though. It's been raining here in Boston for an entire week and I am going crazy.
What a super cool idea! However, it's MORE than a dress shop so I would change the name, but the idea is AWESOME! You should pair up with the lady in Oregon that has the mobile library, thats a win-win!
