and there she was

and there she was

just sitting there. surrounded by ceramic kittens and plastic tumblers. unbelievably, at the thrift store. on a day when I was broke as a joke, on a day when fifteen dollars seemed like a crapload of money. but of course, I could not, did not walk away. fifteen dollars! beautiful 50mm1.4 lens, hippie strap and all. I KNOW.

feels like a tank in my hands, feels like heaven. shot a couple of rolls and I am in love. I do believe my nikon is jealous.

(here come the scans, peoples)

  11. wow! great find.

i used a canon ae-1 for the first couple of years that i had my photography business. it was/still is a great camera. moved on to a bronica etrs, loved medium format, but missed the compactness of my canon.

    enjoy it!

  25. They DO weigh a ton, don't they? But there's nothing like the feel and smell and click of those oldies but goodies. I have to break mine out again - too spoiled by the instant gratification of digital (and no film processing!) Have fun with your new beauty!

It's at the top of my list of blog bookmarks.
Your amazing shots are what got this un-photographer-type-lady into takin' lots and lots of pics, loving each pretty shot, filling up on my screen, to savor and share.
