Thank you for sharing this.I've never seen a train quite like it where all of the seats face the windows. Is this because it's designated for long journeys, or a special carriage, or just the norm in your corner of the world?Felicity xwww.giftsofserendipity.com
I think travel by train is fabulous too. These photos are wonderful - I'm particularly loving #'s 5&6.also, my word verification is "stlinger," as in "St. Linger" which is what a train ride makes you want to do. Linger. ha!
I've got to say I'm just LOVING this series of images. They're wonderful! Keep up the AWESOME capturing, Missy!Rebecca xVaaVoom.com

Lovely. I love Amtrak. I can't read on the train because the view out the window is just too amazing.
oh wow. that is seriously cool!! i didn't realize trains had seats that looked directly out the window like that. perfect for some picture-taking. thanks for sharing them!
How fabulous!!....And the photo of the restroom sign... ^_^ Girls notice things like that as major attractions!!!
I love to travel by train, I once took 'The Canadian' from Edmonton to Vancouver, it was with a 5 hours delay but the sights were sooo beautiful.
What an awesome trip and gorgeous photos. I love long train rides!
These are beautiful! Looks like a lot of fun.
a:what you said about the lady waving?trains rumble by just on the other side of a chain-link fence at ander & zaza's school. whenever a "people train" passes, the entire schoolyard freezes (letting balls bounce away and jump-ropes go limp), turns to the tracks, WAVES, and screams "TRAIAIAIAIAIAIN!!!!"***when you make it down here by train, we'll be waiting at the station with flowers and balloons and pinatas!***xo,stacey z
These photos make me want to take the train from San Francisco to Portland!
I'm so clueless I had no idea all the seats face the windows. That's so smart! How could you *not* stare outside the entire time?
I love the one of the people on the train, and the blurry train with the sun setting. Thanks for all the inspiration.

Love, love these pictures. Looks like such a fun little adventure. I live in LA and have never taken the train - must do it now - you've inspired me. :)
Oh how I love the train. Sigh. I bought a U.S. rail pass a few years ago and used it to go from DC to Halifax, Nova Scotia and then back down to Dallas, Texas. It was just an amazing journey.
I. LOVE. TRAINS.
Your photos always make me smile.
Why stop at LA? You can take it all the way to San Diego! At some point, it becomes the Surfliner and it is dreamy.
I love that shot of the inside of the train! Gorgeous!
