that if you stay in your pajamas all day long, then you totally rob yourself of that great moment at the end of the day when you get to shimmy out of your uncomfortable I've-been-working-so-hard-all-day-long-and-do-these-tights-really-need-to-be-so-TIGHT clothes and slip into your pajamas. you know this moment? just. so. good. this was what came to mind saturday evening after spending the day in my pajamas.
i've had that moment! know what i did?? changed pajamas! put on a pair that i warmed up in the dryer first... heh heh
ReplyDeletePerfect timing! I just switched from my work clothes to jammies and this was the first thing I read!
ReplyDeleteSunday. Sunday was the pajama day here.
ReplyDeleteAnd now? Now I will go enjoy that moment. The moment of stepping into the pajama portal from the world of time, and logic, and measures into the world of imagination, endless possibilites, dreams! :)
so true! I was in my pj's all day long Sunday ... Jeremy got back from a long day doing errands and he thought it was very funny that Max and I never bothered to get dressed. Too cold to go out, so why bother?!
ReplyDeleteAnother good feeling I rarely have anymore ... laying down in bed after a long day of hard physical work, and feeling each muscle relax, and having your legs almost involuntarily go into a stretch. It's so good to go to bed when you're truly tired. I'm always sitting around or laying around with Max, so I'm rarely so wound up that I have that feeling of melting into the bed.
Geez, I know what you mean. Since I'm inbetween freelance gigs right now, I've spent a couple days sitting at my computer working on my resume in my pj's...so nice...just eating cereal...writing on the blog...not...even...showering. Man, I can be such a bum! I better get working before this sets in permanently.
ReplyDeleteloooove that feeling, too. one of the reasons i get dressed (almost) daily even though i'm a stay at home mama.
ReplyDeleteso true.....that is such a great feeling!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat are real clothes? you mean people take their PJS off?
ReplyDeleteI have never really thought about it...but so true! I look forward to the moment I get home run upstairs, and change into comfy clothes. But...there's nothing like the days where you can lounge all day! Man...I wish I had more of those!
ReplyDeleteI try and take my pants off while I'm still in the garage walking into the house. We have a "no pants" rule at our house. Wait, that sounds bad. We have a "no work pants" rule at our house.
ReplyDeleteAnd let's be honest, also a "no pants" rule.
so fun not to get dressed though!
ReplyDeleteI found out how true this was today. Blah... So, I guess that's incentive to get dressed tomorrow. ;)
ReplyDeletei am doing the half and half today. i got up, ran errands, then came home to do laundry. i had to wash the one pair of pants that fit me since having the baby. so im walking around the house with the top half of me ready for action, and the bottom nice and comfy. the most unfulfilling part of it all will be getting back in my jeans if i need to leave the house again. that really stinks.
ReplyDeleteI have found two things about wearing pajamas all day:
ReplyDeletefirst, if you wear pajamas all day long (for a number of days) each night when you change into fresh pajamas, (specially if they are fresh from the dryer, lisa) it feels just as good.
and second, when you wear pajamas all the time, getting into regular clothes feels like you're getting dressed up. and who doesn't love that feeling?
:D
