list eight: guiltiest pleasures

I'm writing from the road, friends. internet access is spotty and there's work to be done but I am here and I have a list. guiltiest pleasures:

1. cheap make-up

2. bad television

3. fountain cokes, heavy on the crushed ice

4. cherry-flavored blow pops

5. ridiculous gossip magazines

6. donuts with sprinkles

coincidentally, when I'm on the road, all self-imposed limitations regarding guilty pleasures fly straight out the proverbial window. I am on my 17th cherry blow pop, folks. I have been to the drug store and I have the cheap green eyeshadow to prove it. from the cocoon of my dark hotel room, I will watch many, many hours of bad late night television. also? a donut with sprinkles is surely in my near future.

hello from guilty pleasure central. things should be back to normal in about a week or two. I think.

(eight down, forty-four to go)

  3. After the 17th blow pop I can only imagine what your mouth looks like...and yes, heavy on the crushed ice...it's gotta be crushed though...not cubes.

  6. hooray for guilty pleasures! all of my guilty pleasures seem associated with long drives as well (drive thru fast food, soda, buying useless fun things at the rest stop).

hope you're enjoying yourself! guilty pleasures and all.

  8. Oh yeah!!!! I love this list. Bad tv is one of my guilty pleasures. We don't get any tv channels, so it is actually in the form of videos for me.
Last weekend I watched the entire season 1 of Friends. Bad tv indeed. But I didn't want to watch anything that would make me cry because I had been doing that a lot.
So I laid on the couch, didn't clean my house (another guilty pleasure) read heaps of magazines (another), ate a bag of potato chips (another!) and watched hours of terrible tv.
It was just what I needed.
Thanks for sharing yet another great list.

  10. I'm with ya. Cheap makeup (which is just as good as the fancy kind I think..cept lipstick)
oh and sprinkles. wish we could just put sprinkles on everything. World would be a much brighter place. xoxo

  11. I think we were separated at birth! MMM..fountain soda lost of ice with a donut, while reading trashy magazine and watching bad TV - Multitasking.

  12. i'm totally with you on fountain coke with crushed ice.

drink up and enjoy your guilty pleasures!

  13. Donuts with sprinkles! I must say, I'm partial to the strawberry frosted.

My ultimate guilty pleasure has to be Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Sometimes the craving is too much, and I cave in to its radioactive orange goodness.

  14. ha! love it!
donuts with sprinkles, my total guilty pleasure, but I only like glazed icing with sprinkles, not chocolate. And that's too funny-when we travel I through all my limitations out the window, too. FUUUUUUN!! Eat a sprinkled one for me, they don't have very good donuts down here in Mexico.

  15. Looks like I have a few stops to make on my way to work this am. The good news is I can get all of that stuff in two stops: Royal Donuts and Walgreens, here I come!

  16. So true - what is it about being on the road that makes all "rules" seem ridiculous and unnecessary?
