taken last summer in the small illinois town where my parents live and I swear to you, when I look at this, I can practically hear the cicadas. I can feel how thick the air is and I want to get on a plane and go home.
much as my mother drives me insane, i can't imagine living far away from her. the husband and i talk about moving but...i'm not sure if we'll ever go through with it. get on the plane girl! <3
Mmm, I was just back in the Midwest and it was gloriously hot and humid. So nice to visit -- I felt like I was soaking up the mugginess through my skin -- and then it was refreshing to come back to the June Gloom in SoCal. =)
Mmmm, I love the sound of cicadas, and I, too, grew up in a small town. I absolutely LOVE your blog and look forward to your posts! Please keep them coming!
i miss that, that sense of a different home- that place where mom once was. what a wonderful feeling, that yearning, and that a single photo can evoke so much emotion in a person...
