well, folks. my little etsy shop is officially five years-old. which is sort of funny, since I hemmed and hawed like a crazy person about even opening it in the first place. exactly six hundred sales later, here I am. and I have no one but you all to thank. no better way to celebrate than with a good ole super happy 2-for-1 anniversary sale (with newly listed parisian prints in le shoppe, to boot). five day sale, friends-- five days for five years-- five is the magic number.

if you're new to this, here's how it works: buy one print, get one free. buy two, get two. three, four, five and so on and so forth (of equal or lesser value, of course yadda yadda yadda). order the print (or prints) you'd like and then, in that super duper handy dandy 'message to the seller' box, state which print (or prints) you'd like to receive gratis. voila. sale runs thursday, december 5th through monday, december 9th, midnight PST.

this party is not wanting to end

because I don't know what I was thinking with a five-day super happy 2-for-1 sale when I am so clearly a seven-day sale kind of girl. seven is my number, seven is my joint. so three more days for the unofficially annual summer super happy 2-for-1 sale, which will (seriously for real) end at midnight (PST) on tuesday, july 30th.

unofficial annual super happy 2-for-1 summer sale, folks! well, because it's summer. and I think you all know how I feel about summer.

buy one print, get one free. buy two, get two. three, four, five and so on and so forth. to further sweeten the pot, new prints have been added, with love, with so much love. here's how it works: order the print (or prints) you'd like and then, in that super handy 'message to the seller' box, tell me which print (or prints) you'd like as your freebies. special runs five days only-- today, july 23rd through saturday, july 28th. 

fyi, I have been known to slip a little extra summer somethin in with the super happy sale prints. just sayin.

the one where ava gets to go too

paris. ava is coming with me to paris. 

initially, this was the plan. it's what irene wanted, what ward and I wanted (well and you know it's what ava wanted) but the circumstances, they flipped and they flopped and for a while there it just didn't seem possible. though the more we thought about it, the more we talked about it, the more we realized just how important it was that she do this, how major it'd be for her to come with me-- to connect with kids from a different part of the world, to explore what it means to see the world differently. and then, paris. to experience paris, one of the greatest cities in the world. 

these are the kinds of experiences that crack a person wide open, that change you forever and even though it seemed financially impossible (and impossibly impractical), we wanted to give her this. more than anything. so we decided we'd do whatever it'd take to make it happen. and now, thanks to irene (and a few other key people), it's a done deal. still, there's a boatload of work to do. and so ava has thrown her proverbial hat in the ring. 

for a limited time, prints of her photographs will be for sale in my shop and all proceeds will go towards the cost of her end of the trip. these are images (the images you see above) that have been carefully selected by her and friends, SHE IS EXCITED. that someone might actually buy one, that someone might actually want to own one. it's been a lovely, heartbreaking sort of thing to witness and of course, my mama heart wants to burst into a thousand pieces. instead, I'll just try and hold it all together while I pass along along the necessary information:

p.s. proceeds from said sale to benefit the emergency we-need-to-get-back-home-asap fund. looks like we might be packing up our little car and heading east for christmas. if all goes as planned, we'll be sailing through five states sooner rather than later. it's a crazy, crazy idea. but then, when love and family are involved, sometimes a little crazy is required.

summer is my happy time

and I am officially in celebration mode. new polaroids (plus one holga) in le shoppe plus a super happy 2-for-1 sale. I am not kidding around with all this summer happiness. details are here.

enormous update in le shoppe, peeps. loads of brand new prints, most of them polaroids. took forever to do all the test prints but finally, they are listed. and there will be more listings in the coming weeks. more more more, I say.

p.s. a little something extra will go out with all orders placed before june 1st. and that's all I'm going to say.

well, we threw all 184 numbers into a hat and these are the two that miss ava picked: 33 and 159.

comment number 33 came from rad julia of minecreations (straight outta minneapolis, yo) and comment number 159 came from lovely shannon of old soul designs. you are ze winners, pretty mamas! deets are headed your way today.

thank you thank you thank you for all the kind and congratulatory words, peeps. can't tell you how much it means to me. really, I can't.

p.s. I think ava would like for me to do a giveaway every single day of every single week forever and ever so she can pick little paper numbers out of hats. and who can blame her? it's fun.

I'm up

and it's sort of a miracle. after two years of thinking about it and several months of talking about it, I finally did it. I'm up on etsy. prints of my photographs are now for sale in le shoppe. and to celebrate said monumental event, I do believe a print giveaway is in order. to enter, leave a comment here (on this particular post) by 11pm PST saturday, december 6th. miss ava will randomly choose two numbers and I'll announce the winners here on monday.
