ReplyDeleteOh my lord, thanks for reminding me how much I love Nina. Look out iTunes. Here I come.
ReplyDeleteOh this picture ! So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading your lists ! As a list-er (?!) myself, I always find it interesting and inspiring to read others' ;)

With the exception of The Xanadu soundtrack and Sara Vaughn, we have many records in common. Two records I play often is Edith Piaf The Unknown and Various Miriam Makeba records. I love the sound of vinyl.
ReplyDeleteIt took me years to find Prince's eponymous second album, which I finally tracked down and snagged for $1.00 at an antique store. I rushed home and started pulling the record out to clean so that I could play it right away. And much to my dismay, I realized someone had switched out the record for Fun in Acapulco. I wanted to cry like someone had stole the gift of life right out of my precious hands! That record needs to make its way to its rightful owner.
ReplyDeleteAny die-hard fan of The Purple one is a friend of mine! I'm following you.
♥♥
With the exception of Xanadu you list could be mine.

How wonderful! I just adore records and record players. :D
ReplyDeleteYESYESYES to Talking book! When we got married last year, we closed down the ceremony, and swept into the party with "I believe when I fall in love." Favourite. On Vinyl especially.
ReplyDeletelovely picture and another great list!
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet list.
ReplyDeleteI have been jonesing for a record player. Have it mp3(not the same) but will do.
My husband bought me a new record player for my birthdya this past year and my entire high school collection of records, as well as those that were my older brother's in high school AND those that belonged to my British boss in high school ( he gave them all to me! fool!) have been pulled out and 6 months later we are still hitting the records hard--recent faves have included Wings, Allman Brothers, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, and the Cult's second album (Electric--my 6 year old loves to rock out to this).
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
ReplyDeleteLove Nina Simone! Her only album I have is Nina Simone and Friends. I think it's time for me to bust out my record player. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI simply adore your blog. Your lists. Your effortlessly graceful musings.
ReplyDeleteOoo I love the song 'Whenever you're away from me' from the Xanadu soundtrack
