let me tell you, I'd like to peel off my sockpants and hurl my big brown boots across the room. I'd like to run free. I think my skin would thank me and perhaps throw a wild party in my honor. sockpants= what ezra calls tights. and that's just what they are. very tight pants made from hot, sweaty socks.
ah, spring. to shed said sockpants. to wear something
floaty, to smell like
lemons and sugar.
also, I hear good things about the flowers. word on the street is that spring is good for flowers. I'm hoping that's true.
I'm so ready too. I've been fantasizing about floaty skirts and t-shirts and warm sun on my not-overly-dry skin. Come on, Spring!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder! I'd almost forgotten it was even possible to peel the sockpants and breathe fresh air. I hope it comes soon.
ReplyDeletegorgeous photo!!!
ReplyDeleteand i feel the same way! bring me the sunshine and the honeysuckle!
The sockpants don't sound comfortable, leggings or not. I'd much prefer a nice pair of cotton shorts. And the lemons of sugar now have me craving my Grandmother's lemonade. Ahh, I am wishing for summer/spring as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope you got to get outside today and enjoy the spring-like weather! We played at the park in light jackets today and basked in the glorious sun! I know there is more rain on the way, but a day like today can keep me going for another couple of weeks!
ReplyDeletemy new spring favorite....i can't get eNOUGH! (i say that like spring is here...ha!) soon...
ReplyDeletewild honeysuckle body cream.
indulge.
:)
cripes...I'm ready to throw everything off and run naked...and as soon as winter is over and thoughts of exposed body parts freezing and falling off are gone, that's what I'm going to do !!
ReplyDeletei started spring cleaning this week...
ReplyDelete'cause if i clean for it, it will come.
right???
love to you!
xoxoxoxox
i hear you sister. my toes are dying for fresh, unsocked, air. flip flops, saltwater'ed, bare? i'll take any of them.
ReplyDeletesockpants=awesome.
oohhh yeah!
ReplyDeletesockpants. That made me smile.
ReplyDeleteWe shoud do a swap, you come down to New Zealand and I will go up your way... it is mid summer at the moment and I am hanging out for autumn!!!! I am sick of the hot weather.
ReplyDeletelong time no comment. I've just caught up with your blog after a busy fall/winter and trip to Europe! You are doing great! Good for you. I just made a link to your blog on mine. Maybe by summer we'll actually have that coffee. Bring on the spring! -Zo
ReplyDeleteFunny how lemons and oranges are staples of the winter season here in Italy. Nonetheless I am craving some sunshine, and some warmth to go with it.
ReplyDeleteOhh....I'm still waiting for the snow here!! ... but I do love Spring
ReplyDeleteOh, I hear you. I bought long johns at the end of the season last year and have been getting my money's worth this winter :)
ReplyDeleteI found your blog via another blog last week and listened to the American Life episode where kids were buying baby dolls at FAO Schwartz, and could not believe my ears!
Stay warm!
Bring on Spring!!! It's 35* in Florida this morning. Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteamen

oh lady. you know i got your back on this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you sister! Let's burn the boots! Ok well, lets at least put them away until next year. : )
ReplyDeleteI think maybe I'm the only one, but
ReplyDeleteI'm still holding on to winter. Layers of sweaters and socks and sockpants and tall boots are my favorite. the sun, though, I could see some more of that...
Amen. I am so ready for sundresses and flip flops, tank tops and open windows at night I just don't know what to do with myself. I am a cranky girl in the winter months....
ReplyDeletei love visiting your blog...so inspiring...love the pix, the lists, the colors...everything. have the sparkliest evening!
ReplyDeletehum! so nice...makes me want to go shopping...
ReplyDeletea nice smell to discover : Un jardin sur le Nil by Hermes - smells like lemons...you gotta go and smell it!
LOL its so true about tights!! Sometimes I just wear dresses over pants just so I don't have to wear tights!
ReplyDeletewearing something floaty is still months away here and i'm about ready to throw the sockpants out the window. they really are just about the most uncomfortable thing ever invented.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping with you. I have recently bought a lemon creme hand lotion, in my zest for spring.
ReplyDeleteSockpants are going to crack my girls up, they despise them.
xo
Oh. Spring. Flowers. Lots and lots of flowers.
ReplyDeleteOkay, goofy question. What's up with the postcard swap? Feel free to shoot me now.
It will be 70 degrees this week. Don't you want to come back? - Carlene
ReplyDeleteThat's all I can think about as well--and I am on the opposite coast.

i was feeling the same way, and then came across rick bass's beautiful quote on keri smith's blog (now reposted on mine):
ReplyDelete"Love the winter. Don't betray it. Be loyal.
When the spring gets here, love it too--and then the summer."
..it's carrying me through london's grey days... :)
