Oh Andrea...I think you've been comment spammed. One of my bigget fears about this whole blog world thing...sorry about that!
Anyway, I too have loved the fact you've shared these papers with all of us. Isn't it funny that 10-15 years ago when we would have all be in high school we would have looked at all of these treasures from the past as trash. At least I think I would have. I mean back then to look at photos of me when I was little, in full 70s garb, and laughed. Now I look at them and think, isn't it cool I lived during such a unique time in history! Perspective sure does change over the years :)
reverb-- thanks for the links... right on. especially digging two tone press.
jenn-- yeah, I know (about the spam)... didn't realize this until later on when I checked her site (ewww, just ewww)... the comment has been deleted and I hope this is not the beginning of gross comment spam. hopefully not... anyway, it is so funny how hard it is for us to appreciate certain aspects of time periods (i.e., music, design, fashion) until so many years later. I used to visit this same aunt so much growing up and would have thought this paper to be hideous during my high school years. and now I absolutely love it! also, I remember thinking how bland everything seemed about the eighties... wondered what in the world would actually come out of that decade as recognizable and easily identifiable as 'eighties'... now, I can spot it a mile away. so funny. I guess you just need some time/distance before you can look back and see it with new, more appreciative eyes.
I was just flipping through random blogs and came across yours. I love the colours. The scaps of paper are fantastic.
ReplyDeletelove to see new people up in here-- thanks so much for the comments, ashlee and akaila. glad you enjoy the blog (and the scraps of paper).
