less ebb, more flow
I should probably not write at four in the morning after watching infomercial after infomercial. I should not write while I am wondering whether or not I can live without a steam cleaner, an airbrush cosmetics system or the magic bullet. or the kymaro body shaper. or the hawaii chair. in the deepest pockets of the night, these things look magnificent to me. the truth is that we've been on the road for awhile. I'm floating in that magic vacation bubble and I don't want to go home. but it's time to go home. my head is spinning with stories and ideas and there's a fat stack of polaroids begging to be scanned and so many undeveloped rolls of film. and my list project is all. off. schedule. this is usually the part where I say I don't know where to start.
so I'll skip that part and start with my new dansko sandals. because I love them more than all the infomercial products in the world. even more than the kymaro body shaper. and I love that they're covered with a fine layer of the kind of dust that comes from getting in and out of the car to buy gas station slushies and take photographs of roadside everything. because really, that's just about the best kind of dust there is.
and i love you.
ReplyDeletelove your dansko sandals, the rug and this post. it's so perfect that balance of a good vacation and the comfort of home, isn't it? safe travels, girl. xo
ReplyDeleteyou're right about that kind of dust..and dansko...ahhhh dansko. got mine on right now!

ReplyDeletethinking of you... hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteohmygod i am cracking up about that hawaii chair! what a hoot.
ReplyDeletei just landed at home after time away and recognizing the dust on your sweet sandals is the best thing to being in the moment. i still have sand in my cuffs.
Honestly, the Magic Bullet is a must have. I have 2 that my family fights over every morning...smoothies, fresh ground coffee. The Hawaii Chair, oh my, can't imagine what that looks like from a few cubicles over! Your sandals are heavenly, just like your photos. Glad you're back safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteum...that Hawaii chair is the funniest/most ridiculous thing i've ever seen. thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteand that photo is so great, love those shoes and i like that kind of dust too. :)
Tina
I so hope you share your photographic adventures with us...!
ReplyDeleteI love your description on the dust.
ReplyDeleteI have a thing for infomercials, too.I was contemplating getting a magic bullet blender for a second the other day because you got two for 3 payments of 33.00. However, I never use my $20 blender. Your sandals are super cute. I need to bring my danskos out.
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely the best kind of dust!
ReplyDeleteAfter watching Ellen try out the Hawaii chair on her show, I can't even seriously consider the sheer ridiculousness of watching anyone else use it.*LOL*
Great post and can't wait to hear of your adventures!
Your shoes match that rug very well. Amazing colors.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post. :)
ReplyDeletei just recently found your blog, and this post made me *smile*
ReplyDeletebecause my dansko sandals are covered in the dust of back countryroads and the beaches of canada and whatever gunk that you pick up at countless rest stations along the way.
hope the post-vacation depression doesn't hang on too long. seems i am seeing more of the night now that we have been home too!
EEEEK! I have those very sandals in black...and they are more important to me than most things! Aren't they great? The only shoes I can wear ALL. DAY. LONG. With no pain.
ReplyDeleteLove those sandals! That Hawaii chair is cracking me up. I can't believe that's real, haha!
ReplyDeleteyes, yes, yes. having just come off my 2 month road trip extravaganza, i know this feeling to the nth degree. love it!

Have a lovely weekend, :) T.
You DO need the magic bullet. It will change your life for the better :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Can't wait to see more. I too am easily swept up by infomercials when left to my own devices... I can barely resist the lure of the Slap Chop.
ReplyDeleteSo I just found your blog and am IN LOVE with your photos. Great job ;) looking forward to seeing what's next!
