list eight: guiltiest pleasures
I'm writing from the road, friends. internet access is spotty and there's work to be done but I am here and I have a list. guiltiest pleasures:
1. cheap make-up
2. bad television
3. fountain cokes, heavy on the crushed ice
4. cherry-flavored blow pops
5. ridiculous gossip magazines
6. donuts with sprinkles
coincidentally, when I'm on the road, all self-imposed limitations regarding guilty pleasures fly straight out the proverbial window. I am on my 17th cherry blow pop, folks. I have been to the drug store and I have the cheap green eyeshadow to prove it. from the cocoon of my dark hotel room, I will watch many, many hours of bad late night television. also? a donut with sprinkles is surely in my near future.
hello from guilty pleasure central. things should be back to normal in about a week or two. I think.
(eight down, forty-four to go)
keep it up as long as you feel it!
ReplyDeleteDonuts with sprinkles, mmm! That's a great guilty pleasure!
ReplyDeleteAfter the 17th blow pop I can only imagine what your mouth looks like...and yes, heavy on the crushed ice...it's gotta be crushed though...not cubes.
ReplyDeletecherry-flavored blow pops YES!!!
ReplyDeleteFun list. I have a love of "bad t.v", too. I am soooooo addicted to Bravo.
ReplyDeletehooray for guilty pleasures! all of my guilty pleasures seem associated with long drives as well (drive thru fast food, soda, buying useless fun things at the rest stop).
ReplyDeletehope you're enjoying yourself! guilty pleasures and all.
hello kindred spirit - cherry blow pops are the best, especially on a road trip
ReplyDeleteOh yeah!!!! I love this list. Bad tv is one of my guilty pleasures. We don't get any tv channels, so it is actually in the form of videos for me.
ReplyDeleteLast weekend I watched the entire season 1 of Friends. Bad tv indeed. But I didn't want to watch anything that would make me cry because I had been doing that a lot.
So I laid on the couch, didn't clean my house (another guilty pleasure) read heaps of magazines (another), ate a bag of potato chips (another!) and watched hours of terrible tv.
It was just what I needed.
Thanks for sharing yet another great list.
Is it bad to really like your guilty pleasure list? Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya. Cheap makeup (which is just as good as the fancy kind I think..cept lipstick)
ReplyDeleteoh and sprinkles. wish we could just put sprinkles on everything. World would be a much brighter place. xoxo
I think we were separated at birth! MMM..fountain soda lost of ice with a donut, while reading trashy magazine and watching bad TV - Multitasking.
ReplyDeletei'm totally with you on fountain coke with crushed ice.
ReplyDeletedrink up and enjoy your guilty pleasures!
donuts. that is all.
ReplyDeleteDonuts with sprinkles! I must say, I'm partial to the strawberry frosted.
ReplyDeleteMy ultimate guilty pleasure has to be Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Sometimes the craving is too much, and I cave in to its radioactive orange goodness.
ha! love it!
ReplyDeletedonuts with sprinkles, my total guilty pleasure, but I only like glazed icing with sprinkles, not chocolate. And that's too funny-when we travel I through all my limitations out the window, too. FUUUUUUN!! Eat a sprinkled one for me, they don't have very good donuts down here in Mexico.
Looks like I have a few stops to make on my way to work this am. The good news is I can get all of that stuff in two stops: Royal Donuts and Walgreens, here I come!
ReplyDeleteSo true - what is it about being on the road that makes all "rules" seem ridiculous and unnecessary?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
This is a great photo.
ReplyDeletelove this post! cheap makeup is definitely the best!
ReplyDeleteRoad trips are meant to be filled with green eyeshadow, sugar overload and pastry! I'm jealous! Maybe you can find the perfect shade of Wet n' Wild Carnation Pink Lipstick!
ReplyDeleteMmm donuts with sprinkles sound good to me!
ReplyDeleteI tend to indulge in my guilty pleasures when I'm on a road trip too. Kit Kat bars are my weakness.
ReplyDeleteYup, your list is A-OK in my book! Love them all ;D
ReplyDeleteenjoy the guilty pleasures while you can. maybe right now they're not-so-guilty pleasures, and that's always good.
ReplyDeleteI also love donuts with sprinkles. I had to run out and get some after I read this:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I've always liked lists.
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker (ha--no pun intended) for the blue raspberry blow pops (hey...my word verification is dumbr)
ReplyDeletejust found you thanks to the lovely marisa...love your philosophy on travel. gave me a great laugh and i agree i feel the same way about the days that i have a doctors appointment, must have treats!
ReplyDeleteLove the list...and the idea of conciously, deliberately making lists overall. AND your list of things to do before 40! (I have one, too...www.thecupcakecountdown.blogspot.com) VERY creative ideas! Enjoying your blog~hope you are enjoying the process!
