thursday, thursday plus photobooth friday

for the record: this is the one where ezra refuses to cooperate. which, I think, makes for a more dynamic composition. but whatever. we dragged that kid all over the place. we should have known that once he'd had enough he'd pull out the big guns and refuse to participate in the happy family show we had going in the booth. smart kid, that ezra. he knows my weaknesses, he knows how to bargain. what it cost me: two more quarters (for him) plus a modest-sized chunk of my patience. but I got my san francisco photobooth strip, yes I did.

and while we were wandering the great aisles of the musee mecanique, I ran into he of the spectacular photobooth skills. he was standing on a small ladder, repairing one of the vintage arcade games. I recognized him immediately. really, how could I not? I introduced myself and we proceeded to engage in a lively conversation regarding what else? photobooths. naturally.

ah, musee mecanique. where the antique arcade games are somewhere between mildly creepy and absolutely charming.

thursday was also a day for double decker carousel rides.

and a new someone for the stranger project

plus, plenty of souvenir shopping

and of course, cable car rides.

more photobooth friday here. and I promise I'm almost done with this san francisco love affair. I promise.

  3. This is a strange and probably unanswerable question, but here goes. I'm dying to find a photobooth in my area, but I haven't seen one and don't know where to look. Any chance you've ever seen a photobooth in Washington D.C.?

  4. never apologize about san francisco! i lived there for 10 lovely years; your photos have taken me around a favorite city with beauty.

i leave for SF thursday morning and plan to visit the musee when in town, hopefully with friends in tow. my strip collection is seriously low and those b/w booths give good.

i love how macabre the little arcade games are, so fun for the kiddies too.

  6. musee mechanique is such a neat place. I know we ended up their twice during our visit last summer. It would be evening and we were too tired to get involved in anything too big...but not ready to call it quits yet...so we would head over there. Loved the photobooth. Loved the whole atmosphere. Such a neat place...and a great place to blow some quarters...

l, take a look at the photobooth finder on photobooth.net... actually, it looks like there's one in DC:

  8. serIOUSly. i have yet to figure out how you 1) FIT that many bodies in a booth and 2) all look darling. i have trouble finding a way to fit myself and one other person in a booth..and never take cute PB pics. you should offer tutorial classes. :)

We went to the Orange County Fair yesterday — many of the pics I took were sort of in homage to you. You can see them here:
