we are currently experiencing day after day of sunshine here in portland-- the mildest weather, the kind that makes you hopeful for spring. little purple flowers are popping up all over the place. they say hello, look at me. I am to be looked at and admired. I am a hint of what's to come. it's strange, all this sunshine. I'm not complaining. I'm just saying. it's strange. just when I thought I couldn't take one more day of grey misty rainy rain, the sun came out.
did I just jinx it? I bet I did.

it's funny how portland brings sunshine in february (a much needed reprieve). i'm loving all the raindrops in this photo, though. hang in there. spring is on its way with tulips, just for you.
ReplyDeleteSorry we couldn't enjoy the fantastic weather together at C's house today....it'll happen one of these days, right? Hope the kidlets are feeling better. Also just found this mysterious bit of fluffy internet fun - seems possibly up your alley? An extra element of excitement for the next guerilla art adventure? http://www.lost.eu/731c4 Soon! -J
ReplyDeleteYeah -- you TOTALLY jinxed it, girl.
ReplyDeleteHa! I've been purposefully not mentioning the glory that has been Portland's weather for over a week now as I'm scared I'll jinx it, too. I've been overcome with manic-like feelings with all of this sun and the blue skies. I got a little sunburn at the park yesterday. A sunburn! Not at all what I expected out of Portland, but I'll take it.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that every blogger I read about who is from Portland is also freakishly creative? So not fair.
ReplyDeleteI think it's because the rainy weather keeps us indoors, where we're forced to find something creative to work on. Or something like that.
ReplyDeletei went last week for a hike to silver falls state park... yay! tulip season is coming soon
ReplyDeleteI like this picture very much!
ReplyDeleteI am the opposite - we hardly get rain, and I wish we'd have some, it's so dry right now.
such a beautiful portrait andrea. i love the images you capture. xo
ReplyDeletefebruary is such a tease....here in on the edge of the atlantic ocean we get these beautiful 70 degree days in february...and we think at last it's over. and then bam. wind, arctic air...today it was 32 degrees. i guess you learn to live in the moment when it changes so drastically.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your creativity with us...xox
lovely portrait, andrea. perfect for this post. i too am glad that springtime is on its way!
ReplyDeletedrop in to my blog when you have a minute -there's a lickle award there for you ;)
