luke, of the
skywalker variety and
sally from
the nightmare before christmas. sort of not kidding around with the costumes this year. the making of sally's dress nearly killed me and this is because I don't really sew. totally worth it, though. and luke wore the wig! I can't believe he wore the wig.
I'd like to think we rocked it this year. that in the midst of all the sickness, somehow we pulled it off. I'd like to think they'll always remember this one.
fantastic costumes!!!!!! I also love how their expressions are totally capturing the character...too cool. XXO
ReplyDeleteHow adorable!! My daughter was "Padme Amidala from episode 3, the padiwan outfit." - direct quote. (you know the ONE costume you can't buy but you hand sew/make because you're a mom and want to make your child happy? )
ReplyDeleteWe came across a darth vader and a white jedi guy but that was it. Wish we would have come across you. :o)

Cami...occaisional (too tired to spell) lurker
you are the best.mom.ever.
ReplyDeleteglad to hear you are feeling better!
The awesomeness just doubled on discovering that you sewed Ava's costume yourself. Wow.
ReplyDeleteRocked it?? I think you knocked it out of the park--to a galaxy far far away. If you don't sew, I'd love to see what else you "can't" do!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find the wig for Sally's costume? & did you buy the stitched stockings/glove-lets or make them?
ReplyDeletethe wig was a raggedy-ann wig that was in pig tails! had to do a little work on it but eventually got it to work. it was all we could find! there were some tutorials on how to make wigs but we didn't have the time (or the patience, ha). we did make the stockings/gloves, though. two pair of cheap white girls tights and black sharpie is what we used. cut the crotch out of one pair and she put them on upside down, her arms through the legs, if that makes any sense at all. it was definitely a costume that took time but it was totally worth it!
